Training
We usually train new divers in the winter months, with more advanced training taking place throughout the year.
All our sheltered water training is carried out on a Thursday evening from 2100 to 2200 in Ribblesdale Pool which is three metres deep. We share this session with our PADI friends, Reefers & Wreckers and after the session we retire to the pub for a well earned drink!
First open water dives and dry suit skills are carried out in a a quarry near Carnforth called Capernwray (some of you existing divers may have been there before), which has excellent facilities. Depth experience is obtained by sea dives and inland sites such as Wastwater in the South West Lake District.
As the club operates a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), we train in small boating skills, seamanship and navigation.
In summary
RVSAC can provide you with training at any level and encourages progression through the club from Ocean Diver to First Class Diver and / or Advanced Instructor at a pace which is comfortable for you!!
