Anglesey and the IOM - 19/26 May 2006The expeditionWill begin around Anglesey (Saturday and Sunday) and then off to the Isle of Man (IOM) on Monday.. We will be doing two to three dives per day depending upon peoples preferences. One deeper dive in the morning and a couple of shallower dives in the afternoon. The diving will appropriate for experienced sport diver and above at the discretion of the Diving Officer. Maximum depths will be 45m although the majority will be much shallower 15-30m. Simon dived off the Endeavour recently off the coast of Anglesey (North & South) and had two of the best dives he have ever had in the UK. The boat & skipperThe boat is run by& Quest Diving, the diving platform being the MV Endeavour. It is not a liveaboard but we will have B&B accommodation in Anglesey and the IOM; there is ample room for 12 divers.. Endeavour is run and skippered by Scott Waterman. Scott has been a BSAC Advanced Diver for the past 18 years, with over 1500 logged dives, 1400 of which have been in the Irish Sea. He is a superb skipper and very knowledgeable about the area. His years of local knowledge were invaluable in the publication of ‘Anglesey Wrecks and Reefs’ Volume 1 & 2, which he co-wrote with Andy Shears. Some of you may know that the marks in these books are all wrong!! He told me why and the new volume will have corrections fro the previous book. Scott has a number of rarely dived wrecks in his portfolio around Anglesey and the IOM.. On the way out the IOM we will be diving the 'Liverpool' which was featured recently in dive magazine. The cost & bookingThe cost is £280 for the diving for the week plus gas (if air say £42 for the week) and accommodation which will be around £175 (the Anglesey accommodation has not come back to us yet). RVSAC would like to get the thing organised as soon as possible to prevent everywhere from booking up so we will need a £100 deposit per diver as soon as possible paid to Matt Taylor (treasurer).
