Ed Howarth - Training Officer & Deputy Diving Officer
Ed started diving in 1995 (learned to dive in '95!) after an off the cuff remark to a friend that it might be fun to learn to snorkel and has not stopped since. He trained with East Cheshire sub aqua club in Macclesfield and became an instructor in 2000 later holding the post of Training Officer for two years until his wife (Helen) realised she had forgotten what he looked like. He is an Advanced Diver, Advanced Instructor and is working hard towards attaining his First Class Diver qualification. In addition Ed is a member of the North West BSAC regional coaching team instructing on skill development courses such as oxygen administration and combined / advanced nitrox. A recent convert to twin set diving, Ed sees little reason to dive abroad when there are still wrecks around Britain. Lives with two grumpy Rhodesian Ridgebacks, two grumpy cats, two grumpy hens, several hives of grumpy bees and Helen who is hardly ever grumpy. She may dive when there is a "g" in the month.
